Hi, I’m Kalley.

I’m mostly this…

I’m a creative explorer, delving into the vibrant realms of drawing, digital illustration, embroidery, and painting. My artistic journey involves a diverse array of materials, from acrylic paint and gouache to spray paint, watercolor, charcoal, pastels, markers, and embroidery string. Each medium offers a unique avenue for me to pursue my curiosities and engage with spontaneity, process, and texture.

At the heart of my work is a belief that creating is a profound opportunity to investigate and express one’s emotions. I strive to craft compositions that evoke inner movement through outer expression. My creative process often begins with large, organic lines and gestures, translating my inner emotions and curiosities into dynamic forms on canvas or paper.

Human emotions, mental health, and their connection with nature deeply inspire my work. I draw from my passions for art, the environment, and mental well-being, which also reflect my professional roles as a Marriage and Family Therapist and an Environmental Program Director. These roles inform my practice, grounding it in a broader context of emotional and ecological awareness.

For me, creating is an act of self-care amidst a busy life. It provides a sanctuary for play and mental freedom, allowing me to engage with my instincts and navigate my own anxieties. My art practice offers a space to intuitively explore and express, creating a bridge between my inner world and the external canvas.

I am a Minnesota-based multi-disciplinary artist and designer with a BFA in Fine Arts and double minor in graphic design and art history from Bethel University, St.Paul, MN .
